  • Week 1: SELF Portrait covers to assess skill levels and Introduction to Mindfulness and Art

    • Objective: Learn the 101 of mindfulness and its connection to art. Talk about the elements, and principles of design
    • Activity : Simple breathing exercises followed by free drawing to express current emotions.
    • MaterialS: Paper, pencils, paint markers, recycles materials.
    • some activities are adapted from : "The Mindful Art Workbook" by Margaret Hensley and Dawn D. Huebner.
  • Week 2: Mindful Observation

    • Objective: students will learn to mindfully observe their environment.
    • Activity 1 : Mindfulness walking
    • Materials: recycle materials, color pencils,paper,pencils.
  • Week 3: Create Mandala Creation

    • Objective: students will Learn about mandalas and create personal designs. Students will learn to transform a white sheet of paper into a colorful and vibrant master piece
    • Activity: Guided creation of mandalas.
    • Materials: Paper, colored pencils, mar
  • Week 4: Gratitude Journaling

    • Objective: students will challenge themselves to come up with 50 things they are thankful for. Use illustration to show things that you are actually grateful for.
    • Activity : use recycled Materials to design an art project : Journals, colored pens, stickers.
  • Week 5: Acceptance commitment and Mindful Coloring

    • Objective: Take your mind to a peaceful world and embrace the vibrant colors to design a mindfulness toolbox to enhance focus, confidence and relaxation.
    • Activity: Color pre-drawn intricate patterns of shapes, calming visualization pictures: for example beach, space, clouds, flowers.
    • Materials: Coloring books, colored pencils, markers
    • Certain Activities are based on the "The Mindfulness Coloring Book" by Emma Farrarons.
  • Week 6: Collage mindfulness Art

    • Objective: Instant Camera to print their own image while expressing various emotions and thoughts through collage.
    • Activity: Create collages using various materials.
    • Materials: cricut, Magazines, scissors, glue, paper.
    • Reference: "Collage Workshop for Kids" by Shannon Merenstein.
  • Week 7: Mindful Photography

    • Objective: photography is a creative tool for mindfulness.
    • Activity: Take mindful photographs and create a photo album.
    • Materials: Cameras or smartphones, photo paper, albums.
    • Reference: "Mindful Photography: A Journey to Yourself" by Jorge López.
  • Week 8: Guided Imagery Drawing

    • Objective: Use guided imagery to inspire art creation.
    • Activity: Instructors/coaches use modeling technique by first showing the guided meditation then followed by students drawing what they visualized.
    • Material: cricut app, paper, pencils, crayons.
    • Some of the activities are based on the "Creative Visualization for Beginners" by Richard Webster.
  • Week 9: Mindful Movement and Art

    • Objective: Combine movement and art to explore creativity.
    • Activity: Simple yoga or Tai Chi followed by free drawing.
    • Materials: Mats, paper, pastels.
    • Reference: "The Art of Mindful Living" by Thich Nhat Hanh.
  • Week 10: Abstract Emotional Regulation

    • Objective: Express inner feelings through abstract art.
    • Activity: Create abstract paintings with vibrant colors, textures and form.
    • Materials: Canvases, acrylic paints, brushes, oil, recycled materials.
    • some of the activities are based on "The Art of Abstract Painting" by Rolina van Vliet.
  • week 11: Calm sculputre

    • Objective: Explore three-dimensional art mindfully using air dry clay, non toxic, and safe for skin.
    • Activity: express calmness and content in your sculpture. Strengthen communication skills : individuals will take turns to explain and present
    • Materials: Clay, sculpting tools.
    • Some "Clay Lab for Kids" by Cassie Stephens.
  • Week 12: Reflect and Share

    • Objective: Reflect on the journey and share experiences.
    • Activity: express and release: group discussion and sharing of favorite pieces created during the course.
    • Materials: Artworks created, display materials.
    • Some of the activities are based on the book : "The Artist's Way" by Julia Cameron.
